Principal Investigators:
Doktor Rumor and Professore Rumore

Doktor Rumor grew up in Moscow and later studied at the Ecole Normale Superieure, in Paris. Following this a Ph D was completed at MIT (summa cum laude) in 1975. The dissertation topic was "The Vibrational and Affective Aspects of Rumourology". Doktor Rumor's interests have focused on two separate but related topics. Originally the Doktor's focus was 'nonverbal' rumour, but by the middle 1980's the focus was more specifically on the vibrational expression of emotion. The second interest, dating from the same period of time, is interpersonal deception. Please find Doktor's CV here. My other interests are software art and crossword puzzles.

Professore Rumore Studied at Stanford University California graduating in 1972. Later studies led to a Ph.D. at California Institue of Technology, CA.

Research Interests
I am interested in the nature and function of fear. A series of questions of particular interest is how fear is learned and how fear memories are stored in the brain. That research concentrates its efforts on forebrain regions such as the amygdala, hippocampus and neocortex. In terms of neurotransmitter systems we have been concentrating our effort on glutamate, GABA and acetycholine. Another important question is how fear memories are translated into specific behavior patterns. That work primarily focuses on the midbrain periaqueductal gray, blue and red regions.

The laboratory does not use rat or mouse models, as most Labs of this sort do. Instead we concentrate on people to people factor, or genetically modified soya products.

My hobbies include hardware art and screenshot art.

To the Institute for the Study of Perpetual Emotion

Associates of the Institute:
The Institute has an open and multifaceted approach to research. As part of its ongoing program of research and experiments there is also a program of affiliations with the Institute. Such associations create a community of like-minded individuals who can openly discuss and exchange research questions in the relaxed atmosphere of the Institutes many conference halls. If you would like to know more about this programme please contact us here at the Institute.

Jon Marshall Ph.D.
For many years Dr. Marshall has done outstanding emotional work with online groups. He has published widely on many subjects ranging from emotional listening to emotional walking. Dr Marshall's work is highly valued at the Institute for it's indepth analysis as well as luclid objectivity. Listen to Jon's testimonial of the research work at the Institute.

Leona Lauder Ph.D.
Dr Lauder has participated in many collaborative research projects with Doktor Rumor. She is particularly interested in the new area of Resistentialism. Currently Dr. Lauder is investigating the different resistence levels in domestic situations such as toaster-resistence between 7am - 9am. She is also involved in Lab-based work investigating the resistence levels of short people and variable objects, especially objects in the red and blue spectrums.

N. Ph.D.
As Dr. N. prefers to remain anonymous we cannot give a very clear account here of how important Dr. N. has been in the ongoing work at the Institute. Suffice it to say that Dr. N.'s contribution to original research has been substantial. However Dr N. did give us permission to play an interview given in early 2004 on the subject of emotional relays in Labs.

Roi Huberman Ph.D and Andrew McLennan Ph.D
Professors Roi Huberman and Andrew McLennan have collaborated on a number of joint ventures with Doktor Rumor. They are currently at work on a highly confidential research project into the role of water in transmitting emotional force. If successful, their discovery will advance the development of a Perpetual Emotion Machine (see sketch #3). By the sound of it they seem to be on the brink of a major breakthrough.
