Interactive Screen 1.0: Beautiful Lives [
Banff]

Interactive Screen 1.0: Beautiful Lives (Guest Curator: Daniel Canty) :: August 14-20, 2010 :: Call For Applications — Deadline: July 13, 2010.
Now in its 15th installment, Interactive Screen is the Banff New Media Institute (BNMI) at The Banff Centre’s flagship new media event. This year, Interactive Screen 1.0: Beautiful Lives will look at the way new media intersects with our aspirations and ambitions, individual or collective, convergent or contradictory, for the betterment of life.
Over the years, Interactive Screen’s unique outlook has proved invaluable in fostering creative partnerships and stimulating the creation of creatively charged, emotionally potent, and economically enlightened new media. Participants invariably come away from the event with fresh ideas and alliances, a refined set of skills, and a renewed faith in the power of new media.
New media makers interested in developing a creative project or reflective essay related to this year’s theme are encouraged to apply to the Interactive Screen Scholarship Intensive. Participants will benefit from valuable mentorship across a broad range of new media interests. Applications for projects in all stages of development, from early concepts through to fully developed prototypes, are welcome.
Scholarships are available for up to ten Canadian and international applicants and include focused mentorship and public presentation opportunities, a travel stipend of up to $550, and full financial support for program tuition, meals, and shared accommodations on The Banff Centre campus.
