Taming Technology [it Le Murate]

Switch - Creative Social Network in collaboration with Associazione Culturale Nub and Tempo Reale present Taming Technology, a two day program including performances, DJ sets, installations, lectures and workshops exploring the territory between music, art and new media. The focus will be on practices such as physical computing, interface and interaction design, hardware hacking and biological computation, framed as fields of research capable of providing new connections between the virtual domain and the physical world. Lve Stage: SoundHack PD/Max [us NYC]

Erbe will be presenting a collection of free Max and PD externals that he’s developed over the past year. These externals explore many diverse audio processes, including: spectral filtering, spectral dynamics processing, binaural spatialization, granular synthesis, multi-head modulated delay, pitch shifting, bit crushing, and distortion. In his talk he will be demonstrating many tricks and techniques for using these externals, such… as: noise reduction, barber pole pitch shifting, resonance removal, and shimmer reverb. This four day workshop introduces basic soft electronics techniques for constructing fabric sensors and wearable circuits. Instead of using soldering irons and wire, we will use sewing needles and conductive thread. The theme of the workshop is hacking sound toys into wearables. Continue reading
