Six rising composers from around the country come together at 92YTribeca to help launch Meet The Composer Studio, a new website that provides a virtual window into their creative lives. Through live performances, video clips and conversation, the composers will preview their latest projects, which will also be chronicled on the site. The resulting pieces will be unveiled in April 2011 at MTC’s Three City Dash, a one-time festival spotlighting composers from a trio of locales.

Chicago is represented by Glenn Kotche, the inventive and searching drummer of Wilco and Marcos Balter, who creates compelling tapestries of pure sound. True to the city’s image, Boston’s Kati Agócs and Yu-Hui Chang create music that is both brainy and deeply expressive. The Bay Area’s experimental vibe comes through in Dohee Lee’s shamanistic performance art and Ken Ueno’s startling vocal techniques.
