Wednesday, September 29, 2010, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Harvestworks, 596 Broadway, Suite 602, New York, NY :: Voice and Electronics - a workshop in vocal music with electronics led by Charlie Morrow and Dafna Naphtali developing Charlie’s solo voice work, The Song of Deborah, from the Book of Judges. Translated from old Hebrew by Harris Lenowitz and Jerome Rothenberg.

Thursday, September 30, 2010 to Saturday, October 1, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. - October 2, 2010 at 9:30 p.m. :: “Working With Stimmung” at Danspace Project at St. Mark’s Church, 131 East 10th Street (at Second Avenue), New York, NY :: Created By Daria Fain :: Part of PLATFORM 2010: A Shared Evening of Work Aitana Cordero and Daria Faïn :: $18 ($12 Danspace Project members)

New York-based Daria Faïn and Spanish-born Aitana Cordero each present a work on this compelling shared evening. Returning to Danspace Project, Daria Faïn works alongside the six-member vocal ensemble Magic Names who sing an abbreviated version of composer Karlheinz Stockhausen’s “Stimmung” live.
Into this architecture of sound, a vocalization of phonetics forming the names of fifty-one Gods from diverse cultures and times, Faïn, as soloist, joins dance to music in this celebration of creation itself.
