The Van Lier Residency at Harvestworks [
NYC]
Harvestworks: The Van Lier Residency :: Deadline: November 2, 2009.
Artists working in digital media and the electronic arts, whose work would benefit from significant studio time and expert engineering assistance, are encouraged to apply for a Van Lier Residency at Harvestworks.
The fellowships are open to young, post-graduate New York-based artists from backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in the electronic arts. The one-year residencies help advance Van Lier fellows’ professional development and promote diversity, equity and access in the arts.
The $10,000 fellowships include a $6,000 stipend to cover career development activities, travel and living expenses while in residence. In addition to the stipend, the artists receives access to training, studio space and production facilities at Harvestworks. Van Lier fellows take advantage of Harvestworks’ broad-based education program to acquire new skills and work with its staff of engineers, artists and multimedia designers in creating new compositions. Once completed, the compositions or digital media works will be performed as part of Harvestworks’ Listen In concert series and included its on-line catalogue.
