Glasbead + FAFFTOPIA

gbicc.jpgGlasbead, by John Klima, is a multi-user persistent collaborative musical interface allowing players to manipulate and exchange sound sample files and create a myriad of soundscapes and rhythmic musical sequences. Current bandwidth allows as many as 20 people to play Glasbead at the same time. Jeremy Owen Turner composed a piece for Glasbead called FAFFTOPIA in 2006. “Here is the 5th solo performance demo video of Fafftopia. This one is probably my fave performance so far…it is brief and yet it has a kind of aesthetic balance (compared with the other performances). For this performance, I was making use of the “z” keystroke that alters the pitch of the selected stem (via the spinning red ring which also controls the volume parameters).
