The Psychoeconomy War Room Table [
Madrid]

PWRT (The Psychoeconomy War Room Table) by Gustavo Romano, with Chema Diez del Corral, Álvaro Jesús Osuna Martín — part of Project Showcase, Visualizar’11: Understanding Infrastructures :: until July 30, 2011 :: Medialab Prado, Plaza de las Letras. C/ Alameda, 15 · 28014, Madrid.
The PWRT is built on the metaphor of the plotting table of the War Rooms, the place where possible tactical moves during a civil or military operation are discussed. Based on a tangible table, reacTIVision and fiducials, the system allows the users to place different flags on the stage of the global economy and to visualize the relationships between these countries in terms of some specific social and economic variables. The used data are collected from the World Bank the UN, the IMF, and the CIA through their websites.

Greeks, Spanish, Italians, Irish, entire EU, take notes here. Clever game. May as well throw in China, USA, Far East in general–new borders, strategies emerge, no? Throw in (now more than evident) computer code/hacking terrorism rankling stock markets, (endless list of possible/probable…as we see before our very eyes. I just wish we had an analog board, cues of debt, gdp, liquidity, unemployment, people figurines. Go back to analog board game–need something to push around! Off edge of the table…onto the floor. (I’m big on physical interaction, suit/collar/military costumes, etc.)
