Fast & Furious vs Addictive TV - Vin Deisel Remixed
In the wake of Addictive TV’s remix of Oscar winning Slumdog Millionaire, created at the request of director Danny Boyle and international distributors Pathé, it’s now the turn of Hollywood studio Universal to commission their first movie remix with the new Vin Diesel action movie Fast & Furious - the fourth installment in the series of petrol-head action movies.
London based audiovisual artists and performers Addictive TV have made their name as trail-blazers in the art of audio/video remixing - especially when it comes to movies. Meticulously sampling everything from films to concert footage, music videos to sports events, their remixes have received praise from creative innovators like Jeff Mills, Goldie, Grandmaster Flash and the former Kraftwerk frontman Karl Bartos. The duo have remixed a number of big-budget movies for the studios including Iron Man for Paramount, Max Payne for 20th Century Fox and both Snakes on a Plane and Shoot ‘Em Up for New Line Cinema, so they are now in the unique position of having created remixes for nearly every major Hollywood studio.
In their distinctive and unique style, Addictive TV’s Fast & Furious remix was made by sampling the sounds and images from the film to create a high-energy and intense audiovisual ‘track’. The technique used is similar to audio sampling in the music world, but Addictive TV instead use linked pictures and sound samples to construct their dynamic mixes.
Slamming the pedal-to-the-metal, and this time fighting a shared enemy, Vin Diesel and Paul Walker re-team for the ultimate chapter of the franchise built on speed. Heading back to LA where it all began, they rejoin Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster to burn rubber, illegally race each other in exotic cars down through the mean streets of Los Angeles, and floor them across the Mexican desert in this new high-octane action-thriller.
The film goes on general release April 3rd in the US and then opens in the UK on April 10th. Co-incidently the same night Addictive TV headline London’s Cargo for Beadyman’s Battlejam night.

ADDICTIVE TV
Described so eloquently as ‘next level shit’ by Grandmaster Flash, when they supported the great man in San Francisco, Addictive TV are certainly that. Using video turntables and laptops, their live sets are a state of the art audiovisual phenomenon, driven by their fast paced audiovisual remixes and video mash-ups.
Trail-blazers in the art of audio/video remixing, Addictive TV meticulously sample everything from movies to concert footage, music videos to sports events, and their intensely detailed style has been praised by creative innovators like Jeff Mills, Goldie, Stereo MC’s and the former Kraftwerk frontman Karl Bartos.
The dynamic duo have blown away audiences in over 40 countries now - from China to Brazil, Japan to India, all across Europe and even in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Moby described them as ‘a tough act to follow’ when they supported him at the opening event of SXSW 2008 in Austin, Texas. Reviewing that show, US music magazine Paste said “Addictive TV completely blew my mind! …a compelling pop culture audio/visual avalanche!”
Criss-crossing the art and club worlds, the duo have performed at venues as varied as the Pompidou Centre in Paris, London’s bfi IMAX cinema and at the Shanghai Museum of Contemporary Arts, as well as headlining at some of the coolest clubs on the international circuit, including Womb in Tokyo, Rex Club in Paris, Paradiso in Amsterdam and Razzmatazz in Barcelona.
In 2006 they became the first artists to officially remix a Hollywood studio movie when they created the award-winning web viral for New Line Cinema’s Take the Lead starring Antonio Banderas. They’ve since remixed Snakes on a Plane and Shoot ‘Em Up for New Line Cinema, Iron Man for Paramount, Max Payne for 20th Century Fox, anime blockbuster TekkonKinkreet for Sony Pictures (Japan), both Easy Virtue and the Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire for Pathé and most recently the Vin Diesel’s actioner Fast & Furious for Universal.
