Depressing 3-Week-Old Taiwanese Movie Rental

Posted On Tuesday May 2, 2006 By Summer

OK, I do not own this but I have had it long enough from Netflix that I FEEL like I own it.

Basically, this is sad because even though awhile back I read about, and sort of understood, the “sunk cost” fallacy (the economist who writes for Slate.com explained the common irrational behavior of continuing to spend time or money on something simply because one has already paid x amount for it), I can neither return it nor force myself to watch it… Image not included since my computer is slow.

What is the name of the movie you rented but can’t bear to return?

Let it go….....You’re wasting money, not getting replacement movies….

For some reason I keep chuckling out loud over this; guess there’s plenty in your story I can relate to. Mostly, I think it’s just the phrase “depressing 3-HOUR Taiwanese movie” that was in the Yahoo listing. Are you even Taiwanese? Either way, that adds an even funnier twist.
