Carrie Noland es la autora de Poetry at Stake: Lyric Aesthetics and the Challenge of Technology (Princeton, 1999) así como de numerosos artículos sobre la vanguardia europea, teoría de la estética y poesía francesa contemporánea. Carrie Noland is the author of Poetry at Stake: Lyric Aesthetics and the Challenge of Technology (Princeton, 1999) as well as numerous articles on the European avant-garde, aesthetic theory, and contemporary French poetry. Her newest work explores structuralist and poststructuralist theories of the origin of art, focussing attention on connections (established by archeologists and anthropologists) between practices involving movement and the release of corporeal energy, such as dance and shamanic rituals, and inscriptive practices, such as graffiti, notation, writing, and depiction. Her fascination with digital poetry stems from her larger interest in inscriptions that manifest a strong visual component. She currently teaches at the University of California, Irvine, and is a loyal student of Iyengar yoga.
