Millie Niss is a web artist whose interests range from interactive
art to digital photography. She spent the first two years of her
life in France, and returned there frequently, culminating with
a year after high school graduation during which she attended
lycee and earned the French high school diploma, the bac C, in
math and physics. She then studied math at Columbia University,
earning a BA in math in 1993, magna cum laude. Life then began
to be more random, and she worked odd jobs as a graduate student
in two different fields, a research assistant doing mathematical
modelling, a systems administrator, a programmer, a counselor
in a mental health facility, a mental health advocate for the
National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, a free-lance journatlist
for Brown University's house organ, and one really terrible job
doing data entry in the dark surrounded by hanging black blankets
for an experiment on color perception. In the past three years
she has worked in web art, publishing pieces in Beehive, Wordcircuits,
bannerart.com, Rhizomes hyperrhiz, the Museum of the Essential
and Beyond, and other sites. She has also published poetry and
essays in the New York Times, The Buffalo News, Friends' Journal,
and other publications. She lives in New York City with her father
and her computer, which is nameless, but a previous computer was
called Monster (see her piece in Attic: arteonline.arq.br/museu/attic/introattic.htm).
She maintains a personal site devoted to web art at www.sporkworld.org.

no segundo grau (high school) durante o qual ela freqüentou
o liceu e recebeu o diploma do segundo grau francês, o bac
A vida então começou
a National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, uma jornalista
Rhizomes hyperrhiz, no Museu do Essencial e do Além
Disso e outros locais. Ela também publicou poesia
e composições no New York Times, The
Buffalo News, Friends' Journal e outras publicações.
arteonline.arq.br/museu/attic/introattic.htm).
Ela possui um “site” pessoal dedicado à web.art
em www.sporkworld.org.
